Chlorine Removal
We supply specialist grades of granulated activated carbon (GAC) for chlorine removal from water.
De-Chlorination of water
Activated carbon is a highly effective material for removing chlorine (Cl) from municipal water, serving a variety of industrial applications. These applications include:
- Boiler water at power stations: Chlorine can corrode boiler components, leading to reduced efficiency and increased maintenance costs. Activated carbon removes chlorine to protect boiler systems.
- Bottled beverages and food production: Chlorine can impart an unpleasant taste and odor to beverages and food products. Activated carbon removes chlorine to ensure a clean and pure taste.
- Dairy farms and factories: Chlorine can negatively impact the quality of dairy products. Activated carbon removes chlorine to protect the integrity of dairy products.
- Ahead of RO membranes and ion exchange resins: Chlorine can damage RO membranes and ion exchange resins, reducing their lifespan and performance. Activated carbon removes chlorine to protect these valuable components.
- Aquariums: Chlorine can be harmful to aquatic life. Activated carbon removes chlorine to create a safe and healthy environment for aquarium inhabitants.
- Dialysis……………
Beyond chlorine, activated carbon can also effectively remove bromine and iodine from water. These elements, often found in trace amounts in municipal water, can contribute to undesirable tastes and odors. Activated carbon’s ability to adsorb these halogens makes it a versatile tool for water purification.
Granular Activated Carbon
for Chlorine Removal
Granular activated carbon is used as a filter in a vessel through which the water is pumped. The GAC is regularly backwashed and does not need to be replaced until it is exhausted.
